About:

I'm a multidisciplinary artist who moves between painting, drawing, fiber, encaustic, mixed media, ceramics, and wearable art. To me, the essence of watercolor is its spontaneity and the unpredictability of water. I rarely use it for studio painting, preferring to work en plein air, with life models, and especially during live jazz sessions, where the energy exchange is at its highest. I like to harness water’s natural flow and create a lead-and-follow dance between intention and spontaneity.
In this class, we’ll explore working with water, pigment, and brushwork rather than against them, while using light and values to sculpt the image.
