Emily Hallowell

Emily Hallowell was born in 1969 in New York City, NY. She attended R.I.S.D. and received her B.F.A. from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and Tufts University. She earned her M.F.A. from Mills College.

Hallowell's photographic work is held in public and private collections and has been exhibited in galleries throughout the US and UK, as well as being featured in periodicals including Harpers Monthly. She is an editorial advisor at Southwest Contemporary. Emily helps to run Untitled Gallery by covering promotion, administration and working alongside Inna Rohr to curate exceptional exhibitions of Tucson artists. On her photography - she says;

"My work often features water as an element, with bodies either at the edge or submerged within. This serves as a starting point for the exploration of interconnectedness and loss. The viewer can infer a narrative from their imagination, heightened the sequencing of images.”
