Through careful observation Steinert attempts to understand and discover the world and lives of those around her. In taking long durations of time to truly look, one can begin to uncover the history of the spaces they occupy, the people who were once present and are currently using these spaces, and one can begin to question their existence and lack of permanence within their current surroundings. This work enables a small glimpse at some of the history surrounding us and the traces of our existence.
